Is the Anta Bypoll a Battle of 'People Power' vs 'Money Power'?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Baran, Nov 4 (NationPress) BJP leader Vasundhara Raje characterized the forthcoming Anta Assembly bye-election as a decisive battle between “people power” and “money power”.
While addressing the press in Baran, she stated, “On one side lies the strength of the people, and on the other, the influence of wealth. People power is on our side. I firmly believe that people power will prevail, while money power will be vanquished.”
Raje highlighted that the BJP's candidate, Morpal Suman, genuinely embodies the local aspirations of Anta.
“Responding to local needs, the BJP has put forth Suman, a candidate from the area whose wife’s family is from Mangrol. He is a true local, unlike other candidates, making him the rightful representative for the voters,” she noted.
The former Chief Minister declared that this bye-election is not merely Suman’s contest, but a “unified struggle for the people of Anta.”
“Suman's victory will signify the triumph of the Anta Assembly constituency. Each vote for him will amplify Anta's voice in the state,” she added.
Raje further mentioned that Anta voters will receive “three representatives with one vote” – Morpal Suman as MLA, herself as a former Chief Minister backing the constituency, and MP Dushyant Singh representing the region at the national level.
“Moreover, the BJP government’s double-engine model will drive rapid progress in Anta,” she remarked.
After her media interaction, Raje visited Siswali and Anta, where she engaged with party workers from Siswali Mandal and Anta City Mandal.
MP Dushyant Singh joined his mother Raje during the campaign, connecting with local supporters.
The Anta bye-election, set for November 11, is seeing an intense campaign from both the BJP and Congress, given the seat's strategic significance in Baran district's political arena.
Independent candidate Naresh Meena, a rebel from Congress, has also filed his nomination, creating a triangular contest.
