Sarma is planning to spend three days in Seoul, meeting with top industrialists before traveling to Tokyo for an additional two days, where he aims to showcase Assam's potential as an emerging industrial hub.
During his visit, the CM toured Banpo Hangang River Park in Seoul on Sunday, drawing comparisons to the Brahmaputra Riverfront project that is in development in Guwahati.
On social media platform X, he noted, “In South Korea for #AdvantageAssam2 Roadshow, I had the opportunity to visit the Banpo Hangang River Park, a well-designed space for leisure located along the Han River. Our Guwahati Riverfront is also being developed with similar ideals and will be open to the public soon.”
The Advantage Assam summit aims to attract global investors to the state, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to inaugurate the event.
As stated by Chief Minister Sarma, the summit, scheduled for February 25 and 26, will also feature the traditional Jhumur dance from the tea tribe communities.
Sarma remarked, “This summit serves as a platform to present Assam's rich traditions to a worldwide audience while also drawing in investors.”
A grand performance of the Jhumur dance, involving over 7,500 dancers and artists, is planned for the event. The CM described it as an extraordinary spectacle, with preparations already underway for the cultural showcase.
He emphasized, “Flawless execution will be guaranteed through master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.”
The concert, which is slated for either day of the summit, is expected to leave a lasting impression on attendees.
