Assam Government Set to Distribute Various Grants and Assistances in the Coming 12 Days: Chief Minister Sarma

Guwahati, Dec 11 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared on Wednesday that a range of grants and assistances will be allocated under multiple government schemes over the next 12 days throughout the state.
The sequence of initiatives was launched by the Chief Minister on Wednesday.
As part of the microfinance incentive and relief scheme, over 78,000 borrowers will benefit from the state government’s relief initiative designed to restore their credit-worthiness and provide them with financial stability.
The Chief Minister mentioned, “More than 3.23 lakh bicycles will be distributed within the next 12 days to school students statewide, along with 48,673 scooters for academically high-achieving students under various schemes.”
Approximately 27,000 top performers in the Class X examinations will receive cash awards, according to Sarma.
In addition, the state government is set to allocate Rs 353.67 crore to 6.86 lakh disaster-affected families for the reconstruction of their homes, fulfilling their essential needs along with providing necessary supplies.
Sarma stated, “6,490 Self Help Groups (SHG) will receive Rs 21.90 crore to establish food processing units.”
He emphasized that over the past three years, the state government has tirelessly worked to secure the land rights of the indigenous population. All illegal encroachments in Kaziranga have been removed.
Previously, Sarma remarked that the state government is dedicated to serving the people of Assam to preserve their identity and promote their development. The government is also pursuing delimitation to mitigate the effects of infiltrators. Furthermore, 10 thousand hectares of land have been cleared of encroachments.
He added that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the delimitation process in all 126 Legislative Assembly constituencies in Assam has secured at least 105 constituencies for the indigenous communities.
CM Sarma expressed that Assam is rapidly advancing towards becoming one of the most developed states in the nation.
He concluded, “We are not only constructing bridges over the Brahmaputra, but we are also planning to build an underwater tunnel.
