New Delhi, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for Patparganj, Awadh Ojha, has made a pointed critique of the BJP, labeling them as “fake followers of Lord Ram” and questioning their grasp of his teachings.
“If they (BJP) can elucidate even ten principles or teachings from Lord Ram’s life, I might consider their claims. The reality is, they are merely pretenders and devotees of Lord Ram. We are the true adherents,” Ojha remarked.
He accentuated the importance of embodying Lord Ram's values, stating, “Anyone aspiring to achieve success in life must follow the path laid out by Lord Ram. He serves as a model for all beings. Lord Ram imparts that everyone will encounter challenges and hurdles in life. He is a figure for all, not limited to any individual or faction.”
His comments arise during a heated political conflict between AAP and BJP regarding former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s recent mention of the Ramayana. At an election rally, Kejriwal referred to the tale of the golden deer, stating, “Raavan disguised himself as a golden deer to plot and abduct Sita.” The BJP has accused Kejriwal of misrepresenting the Hindu epic for political advantage and showing disrespect towards the Ramayana.
Ojha also commended Kejriwal and the AAP administration for their developmental initiatives in Delhi, asserting: “The citizens of Delhi are delighted with Arvind Kejriwal because he has fulfilled his commitments. If someone is mimicking his governance model, what can we say? The opposition governs in 20 states; they could also enact these reforms there.”
He continued, “Arvind Kejriwal has consistently valued Purvanchal and every community in Delhi. AAP has evolved into a treasure trove for the people of Delhi. Mohalla Clinics, public schools, and subsidized electricity and water bills are invaluable assets to the populace. No one wishes to forfeit these assets.”
Expressing hope for the forthcoming Delhi elections, Ojha remarked, “I am receiving overwhelming affection from the residents of Patparganj. I am optimistic that I will gain their trust and achieve success in the upcoming elections.”
The elections for the Assembly in Delhi are scheduled for February 5, with vote counting taking place on February 8.
