Ayodhya's Ram Mandir Priests to Wear New Attire: Yellow Chaubandi and White Dhoti

Ayodhya, Dec 27 (NationPress) The splendor of Ram Mandir is poised to expand even further, as the priests residing in the temple complex will now be adorned in distinctive attire to signify a unique identity for them.
A new attire of 'yellow chaubandi and white dhoti has been introduced for the priests, who will start wearing this from now on.
Traditionally, temple priests wear a saffron robe paired with a white dhoti, but this new ensemble will serve to distinguish them as the priests of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ram Janmabhoomi temple, shared with IANS the rationale behind this initiative.
“Every temple has an identity, and this dress code has been adopted to create a separate and unique identity for the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The priests will now wear a pair of yellow chaubandi and white dhoti. It serves as a mark of identity. A logo of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is also incorporated in the chaubandi, further distinguishing the priests of this temple from those in other temples around the country,” stated the octogenarian head priest of the Ram temple.
He further elaborated on the new regulations regarding mobile phone usage within the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.
“Mobile phones are prohibited inside the sanctum sanctorum. The priests assigned to the sanctum will remain inside without going out or touching anyone. Should they make contact, they will need to take a bath. They must stay until the temple closes or until they are replaced by another priest. All arrangements are being facilitated by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust,” he remarked.
This decision comes in anticipation of the grand celebration marking the first anniversary of the “Prana Pratishtha of Ram Lalla idol” (the consecration of the Ram Lalla) at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir.
The event, known as Pratishtha Dwadashi, is expected to gather devotees from across the nation for a day filled with sacred rituals, music, and cultural activities.
Numerous rituals will take place at various locations within the temple to honor the consecration.
It is noteworthy that the 'Pran Pratishtha' (consecration) ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple was conducted on January 22 this year.
