Jaipur, March 13 (NationPress) On Friday, Hanuman Beniwal, the leader of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and Member of Parliament for Nagaur, brought several pivotal national and regional concerns to the forefront during a discussion in the Lok Sabha regarding the second set of Supplementary Demands for Grants for the fiscal year 2025–26.

In his speech, MP Beniwal urged the central government to focus its additional budget allocations on the fundamental necessities of farmers, youth, and rural communities.

He stressed the importance of increased funding to bolster the agricultural sector, enhance irrigation facilities, build rural roads, and improve education and healthcare services.

Moreover, MP Hanuman Beniwal brought to light the challenges faced by citizens nationwide, particularly in Rajasthan, due to the scarcity of domestic and commercial gas cylinders.

He questioned the government's contingency strategies to secure consistent supplies of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas, particularly amid ongoing geopolitical tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

MP Beniwal noted that the primary aim of the Supplementary Demands for Grants is to address essential costs that were not anticipated when the annual budget was created.

He emphasized that such requests should not become commonplace and should only be reserved for genuinely unforeseen situations.

Furthermore, he pointed out that the frequent introduction of Supplementary Demands each year highlights deficiencies in the government's financial planning and budget management.

He remarked that when the Finance Minister unveils the annual budget in Parliament, it is portrayed as the definitive guide for the country’s economic growth.

However, the government's request for thousands of crores in additional funds just months after the budget presentation raises significant doubts about the accuracy of the initial financial evaluation.

Additionally, he observed that it remains unclear how much the proposed additional expenditures would benefit farmers, labourers, youth, and other underprivileged groups.

In another critical point, he raised a civil aviation safety concern in the Lok Sabha, seeking the government's response regarding reported GPS signal interference incidents across various airports in the country.

Through a parliamentary inquiry, MP Beniwal requested information on the number of flights impacted by tampering or disruptions of Global Positioning System (GPS) signals over the past two years and the current year, including instances near Delhi.

He also inquired about the measures the government has implemented to avert such incidents. In response, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, informed the House that airlines reported 2,354 GPS interference events from November 2023 to December 2025, and 623 incidents between January 2026 and February 2026.

The Minister confirmed that such occurrences have been noted in the vicinity of Delhi's airspace. MP Beniwal expressed that the substantial number of these incidents underscores the urgent need to bolster technical security within the aviation industry.

He urged the central government to adopt advanced technologies, improve surveillance systems, and enforce stringent security protocols to thwart incidents such as GPS spoofing and signal interference.

Beniwal emphasized that the safety of millions of air travelers in the country should remain a top priority, calling for immediate and decisive action from the government.

He reaffirmed his commitment to continue raising issues pertaining to public interest, national security, and the concerns of ordinary citizens through the platform of Parliament.
