Patna, Feb 7 (NationPress) Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that milk production committees have been formed in 25,593 villages across the state, with plans to extend this initiative to the remaining villages within the next two years.
In a post on social media platform X, CM Nitish shared that this effort is part of the third resolution under 'Saat Nischay-3' (Seven Resolutions–3), specifically aimed at enhancing Agricultural Progress and fostering Prosperity in Bihar.
The primary goal is to bolster the dairy sector and provide equitable prices for farmers raising livestock.
"Milk production committees have been established in 25,593 out of the total 39,073 villages in Bihar. The Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Resources Department has been tasked with ensuring that all remaining villages have such committees within two years," the Chief Minister stated.
This initiative is expected to elevate the earnings of livestock farmers and enhance the availability of milk throughout Bihar.
Furthering the expansion of the dairy network, he noted that under 'Seven Resolutions–2', Sudha milk sales centres are already functioning in every block of the state.
Now, under Seven Resolutions–3, the government plans to establish Sudha milk sales centres in each panchayat as well.
Currently, Sudha milk sales centres are operational in 100 out of 8,053 panchayats. Directives have been issued to establish centres in the remaining 7,953 panchayats by the close of the financial year 2026–27," he mentioned.
The Chief Minister revealed that the new Sudha milk sales centres will be prioritized for Jeevika Didis under the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme, thereby fostering women's entrepreneurship in rural communities.
He emphasized that the growth of the dairy sector will generate job opportunities in villages, boost incomes, ensure access to milk and dairy products, and strengthen the rural economy. This initiative is envisioned to bring prosperity to the state’s populace.
