New Delhi, Feb 27 (NationPress) On the third day of the Delhi Assembly session, while BJP representatives addressed issues affecting their constituencies, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members, led by Leader of the Opposition Atishi, were engaged in a protest.
The AAP members faced obstacles entering the Delhi Assembly and resorted to staging a dharna. They condemned the BJP government, labeling it as ‘authoritarian’.
Responding to these events, Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Assembly, Mohan Singh Bisht, spoke to IANS. When questioned about the protests and allegations against the BJP, the Deputy Speaker remarked, "I won't comment on their statements, but the conduct they displayed within the House was not fitting for a democratic environment. This assembly is accountable to the citizens of Delhi. Participation in discussions on various matters is essential."
In relation to the CAG report being presented in the Delhi Assembly, BJP legislator Arvinder Singh Lovely remarked that the inconsistencies highlighted in the CAG report clearly show that the previous AAP government has committed significant offenses, and they will face repercussions.
Previously, Leader of Opposition and former Delhi CM Atishi took to the social media platform X, stating, "For the first time in our nation's history, elected representatives are being barred from entering the Assembly complex. The police have yet to show us any orders. This is the BJP's dictatorship. When we shouted 'Jai Bhim,' we were expelled from the Assembly complex. The BJP despises Baba Saheb Ambedkar, detests his image, and shuns his name."
Atishi also mentioned that she had requested a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu for February 28 (Friday).
