BJP Critiques AAP Government Amid CAG Report Revelations

New Delhi, Jan 11 (NationPress) The revelations of purported discrepancies and failures in the Delhi government’s now-repealed excise policy, which has led to an astonishing loss of Rs 2,026 crore to the treasury, has garnered fierce criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BJP President JP Nadda launched a scathing attack on the AAP government in light of the troubling report released by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, asserting that it provides ample proof of a ‘power-drunk’ administration characterized by significant misgovernance.

Highlighting the loss of Rs 2,026 crore to the exchequer, he stated that the CAG report pertaining to 'liquorgate' has exposed Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP administration.

Nadda also took to X to criticize the city administration for ‘intentional lapses’ in the execution of the policy, stating, “AAP’DA model of loot is fully visible, especially in matters concerning liquor.”

The auditor's report has stirred significant activity in political realms and is expected to ignite a heated exchange, as it has highlighted several ‘lapses’ in the AAP government's excise policy while recording a loss of Rs 2,026 crore for the first time.

The CAG report also indicated that many bidders were incurring losses, yet licenses were awarded by the previous Kejriwal administration. It alleged that decisions were made arbitrarily, disregarding the suggestions of the Delhi LG.

In a foreboding message to the AAP in the lead-up to the Delhi elections, Nadda mentioned that it would only be a matter of weeks before they face the consequences of their misdeeds.

Other BJP officials have also criticized the AAP and its leader's commitment to clean politics, labeling the CAG ‘expose’ as a stark illustration of a corrupt party led by ‘Kattar Beimaan’.

They contended that the AAP government has swindled the hard-earned money of innocent taxpayers, describing it as a ‘shameful betrayal of public trust.’

Conversely, the AAP has challenged the authenticity of these allegations, with the party's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh questioning the source of the purportedly ‘leaked’ CAG report.

“Where is this CAG report? From where are these assertions originating? The CAG report has not been presented, yet they are making these claims,” he stated.
