CAG Report on Liquor Scam Could Lead to AAP's Downfall: Manoj Tiwari

New Delhi, Jan 11 (NationPress) BJP MP from North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency Manoj Tiwari asserted on Saturday that the electorate in the national capital is set to hold accountable the ‘AAP middlemen and corrupt officials’ who claimed they would clean up the system yet found themselves implicated in the ₹2,026-crore liquor scam, as revealed by the CAG report.

“In spite of their attempts to conceal the CAG report, its details are reaching the public ahead of the polls on February 5, and those involved in scams and kickbacks will be removed from power,” Tiwari expressed to IANS.

Tiwari also criticized AAP MP Sanjay Singh for questioning the CAG report, stating: “The revelations of the CAG report are alarming. If Sanjay Singh wishes to dispute the circulating CAG findings, he should publicly disclose the CAG report if he possesses it.”

He emphasized the BJP’s campaign song for the Assembly elections on February 5, asserting that the party is progressing towards a significant victory in the 70-member Assembly.

Tiwari, a prominent leader from the Purvanchali community with a background in the entertainment industry, remarked that every line in the BJP campaign song reflects the truth, and party members will spread the ‘reality song’ across every neighborhood. “Bahney Nahin Badlav Chahiye, Dilli mein BJP sarkar chahiye” (We want change and not excuses, we want a BJP government in Delhi), he stated.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva informed IANS that the failure of the AAP government to present the CAG report in the Delhi Assembly underscores the culpability of former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, amid allegations that the Delhi government orchestrated a liquor policy scam and misappropriated ₹2,026 crore.

He explained that the liquor policy was altered with malintent and the recommendations of the expert panel were disregarded, leading to violations of rules and regulations.

“We have consistently maintained that Arvind Kejriwal is implicated in the development of the excise policy and kickbacks. He is directly linked to the embezzlement of ₹2,026 crore, and a portion of these illicit funds has been utilized for refurbishing ‘Sheesh Mahal’,” he added.

He further noted that according to media reports regarding the CAG findings, the Delhi government is deeply entrenched in corruption associated with the excise policy.
