BJP MP Chandolia Accuses AAP Government of Exploiting Guest Teachers

New Delhi, Dec 29 (NationPress) Delhi BJP General Secretary and MP Yogender Chandolia participated in a protest organized by the Guest Teachers Democratic Forum on Sunday, addressing the alleged mistreatment of guest teachers by the Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi administrations over the last ten years.

Chandolia asserted that the teachers’ demonstration has unveiled the AAP government’s false claims regarding a world-class education system. He promised the protesting guest teachers from Delhi government schools that he would engage with Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena regarding the regularization of their employment.

He assured the guest teachers that once the BJP takes power after the upcoming Assembly elections, all guest teachers will be regularized.

During the protest, the guest teachers put forward various demands, including a refund of Rs 15,000 for tablets that 26,000 guest teachers purchased under directions from the Delhi government’s education department, which has been pending for over a year.

The teachers also called for job security and a retirement policy extending to the age of 60.

Additionally, they requested fixed monthly salaries with basic pay, dearness allowance, and leave benefits.

The protesting teachers are also demanding the reinstatement of guest teachers who were terminated or released.

Chandolia criticized the Delhi government for consistently exploiting guest teachers, stating, “The indifferent Kejriwal government merely makes promises but fails to keep them.”

He expressed regret over the situation where educators, who play a crucial role in teaching children, are forced to protest on the streets for their rightful demands.

Chandolia also pointed out that many guest teachers, who have been in service since 2010, are now too old to apply for competitive exams for reemployment.

“Guest teachers were essential to the government in the past, and now, the Delhi government has pushed them to the streets to seek justice,” he concluded.

Earlier, BJP leaders highlighted the shortcomings of the AAP’s education model in Punjab, where a computer teacher's hunger strike has entered its eighth day, protesting the Bhagwant Mann government’s failure to pay their outstanding salaries.

Johnny Singhla's hunger strike is a testament to the AAP’s much-lauded education model's failures, while a relay fast by other computer teachers has continued for 120 days, calling for wage revisions and parity.
