Patna, Oct 14 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its initial list of 71 candidates for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 on Tuesday, prioritizing inclusive representation across various caste and community lines.
The BJP's decision underscores a strategic approach to social equilibrium by incorporating candidates from Dalits, Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs), Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/STs), and women.
Notably, the party has allocated over 50 percent of its tickets to candidates representing Dalits, backward classes, and women.
The candidate list features 20 OBCs, 11 EBCs, 6 SC/ST representatives, and 8 women.
The upper caste demographic is also represented fairly, with candidates from Bhumihar, Brahmin, Rajput, and Kayastha backgrounds.
Among the upper caste nominees, there are 15 Rajputs, 11 Bhumihars, 7 Brahmins, 1 Kayastha, and 1 Chandravanshi.
