Agartala, March 14 (NationPress) Chief Minister Manik Saha of Tripura announced on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to contest all 28 seats in the forthcoming elections for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), while still adhering to its strategy of forming alliances.

Speaking at a rally in Dhumachhara, Dhalai district, Saha emphasized that the BJP is committed to collaborating with its alliance partners but also aims to bolster its own presence in the council elections.

“The BJP respects its alliance partners. Meeting all their expectations will depend on our efforts. We embrace the principle of alliance politics to ensure inclusivity. However, our ambition is to secure all 28 seats,” stated the Chief Minister.

At the event, Saha welcomed 587 voters from 147 families who have joined the BJP.

“Today marks a significant moment for us. We welcome 587 voters from 147 families into the BJP fold. You have made a timely and wise choice,” he remarked.

Saha highlighted that the development of both the state and the country is intertwined with the BJP's leadership.

“With your support, the strength of this region and the mandal will grow. You will become partners with PM Modi in realizing the vision of a 'New India' and a 'New Tripura',” he added.

The Chief Minister also criticized the existing TTAADC administration, claiming that previous governments have merely shown sympathy towards tribal communities without ensuring actual development.

Saha alleged that the current council administration is plagued by corruption and irregularities.

He asserted that both the state and central governments, under PM Modi's leadership, are dedicated to maintaining transparency in governance.

“Our Prime Minister has made it clear that he will not engage in corruption or permit it. He acts as a vigilant guardian. Under this leadership, both the central and state governments operate with transparency,” he said.

Saha noted that BJP-led governments are in power in approximately 20–21 states nationwide, and the public understands that progress is unattainable without PM Modi's guidance.

He remarked that the law and order situation in Tripura has significantly improved compared to previous years.

“In the past, residents experienced a climate of political violence. Currently, statistics show that Tripura ranks third lowest among the 28 states in terms of crime rates. Over the last two decades, crime has decreased by approximately 8.2 percent in the state,” he explained.

He added that Tripura now enjoys greater national respect due to governance improvements and development metrics.

“Tripura stands second among northeastern states regarding GSDP and per capita income. NITI Aayog has recognized Tripura as a front-runner state,” he noted.

Saha further accused certain political factions of attempting to instigate communal discord using slogans like “Thansa Thansa”.

“Politics is being played in the name of chaos. For us, 'Thansa' signifies unity—embracing diverse communities, including different castes, janajatis (tribals), and minorities. Together, we aspire to build a prosperous Tripura,” he said.

He concluded by stating that the BJP government is committed to the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” as guided by PM Modi.

“Progress cannot be achieved in isolation. True development occurs when everyone advances collectively,” he emphasized.

Point of View

The party is not just reinforcing its presence but also signaling its commitment to alliance politics. This strategy could reshape the political landscape in the region, especially considering the emphasis on development and transparency.
