Hyderabad, Jan 14 (NationPress) A court in Telangana's Karimnagar town on Tuesday provided conditional bail to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA P. Kaushik Reddy, who was detained for causing a disturbance and alleged misconduct with Jagtial MLA M. Sanjay Kumar during a District Review Committee (DRC) meeting.

The Huzurabad MLA was apprehended in Hyderabad on Monday while exiting a news channel's office after participating in a program, and was subsequently transferred to Karimnagar.

The police presented him before Additional Junior Civil Judge Premalata, who granted him conditional bail regarding all three cases filed against him.

The MLA was instructed to provide a surety of Rs 2 lakh and to report to the police whenever summoned for questioning.

The court also mandated that he refrain from similar conduct in the future.

Speaking to the media, Kaushik Reddy stated that he would persist in questioning the government over its failure to deliver on its election commitments. His arrest followed three cases being lodged against him at the Karimnagar One Town Police Station.

One case was initiated based on a complaint from Jagityal MLA Sanjay's personal assistant Katroju Vinod for misconduct and verbal abuse.

Another case stemmed from a complaint by Karimnagar Revenue Divisional Officer (DRO) Maheshwar Reddy for disrupting the DRC meeting.

A third case was filed by Sathu Mallesham, chairman of Zilla Grandalaya Samastha, who alleged that the MLA behaved inappropriately with him during the DRC meeting. On Sunday, Kaushik Reddy had a verbal altercation with Sanjay Kumar and attempted to interrupt his speech.

Chaos ensued when Kaushik Reddy approached Sanjay while he was speaking, demanding to know which party he belonged to.

Kaushik Reddy made derogatory remarks about Sanjay for switching allegiance to the ruling Congress party after being elected on a BRS ticket in the 2023 Assembly elections.

He even tried to seize the microphone from Sanjay, leading to a fierce dispute. The two MLAs nearly clashed physically, causing turmoil in the meeting, which was attended by Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.

Police intervened and swiftly removed Kaushik Reddy from the meeting room. The BRS MLA later told reporters that Sanjay should resign as MLA and contest in the by-election.
