Bengaluru, Jan 10 (NationPress) In a significant development, police in Karnataka have filed a chargesheet against six individuals accused of sending vulgar and threatening messages to Vijayalaxmi, the spouse of incarcerated Kannada superstar Darshan. The chargesheet indicates that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts to locate additional suspects who are currently on the run.

The filing of the chargesheet was necessitated as investigators are mandated to submit it within 60 days following the case's registration at the Cyber Crime Police Station.

Among those apprehended are a software developer and a petrol station manager, including fans of the renowned Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep.

Vijayalaxmi had lodged a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station regarding various social media accounts that posted abusive remarks about her. She provided evidence, including photographs, targeting 15 Instagram accounts and over 150 offensive comments.

Additionally, she filed a complaint at the Bengaluru Police Commissioner’s office, presenting screenshots of the hateful comments and details of the respective accounts, urging the authorities for action.

“While action was swiftly taken in another woman’s case, my complaint has seen no progress, leaving me feeling disregarded,” she emphasized.

Moreover, Kannada actress and former Congress MP Ramya, also recognized as Divya Spandana, had previously filed a complaint against Darshan’s fans for issuing rape threats after she supported the family of a victim in a fan murder case. The police acted promptly in that situation and made arrests.

Vijayalaxmi asserted on social media, “I have always trusted that the legal system treats everyone equally in our nation. However, this experience has made me question that belief. Despite my lawyers' follow-ups, there has been no progress. I had to personally remind them today that I am still awaiting attention to my complaint.”
