New Delhi, March 10 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed heartfelt congratulations to all members of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on their Raising Day. He emphasized that the CISF, renowned for their determination, discipline, and dedication, plays an essential role in protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure.
In a message on social media platform 'X', PM Modi stated, "Sending warm wishes to all CISF personnel on this important day. Their unwavering commitment to duty significantly contributes to India's security and development."
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted the CISF personnel on their Raising Day, commending the force for their dedication, professionalism, and patriotic service.
In his post on X, HM Shah expressed his appreciation for the CISF and recognized their commitment to handling challenging security tasks throughout the country.
“Best wishes to the CISF on their Raising Day. Whether it’s protecting the nation’s critical installations or providing security during emergencies, their dedication exemplifies the true essence of patriotism and professionalism. We honor the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” the Home Minister remarked.
The CISF Raising Day is a time for the nation to celebrate and acknowledge the remarkable contributions made by the CISF in securing industrial operations nationwide. The force was officially established on this day in 1969 under an Act of the Parliament of India.
Initially tasked with protecting only industries wholly owned by the Central Government, the CISF now also provides security to joint-venture enterprises involving the Central Government. The organization operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs and adheres to its regulations.
The necessity for a specialized force like CISF became evident after the challenging India-Pakistan war of 1965, which posed significant security threats to India’s public sector institutions and vital economic assets, including oil refineries and power plants.
Consequently, the Government of India established the CISF on March 10, 1969, assigning them the crucial responsibility of safeguarding these institutions with specialized forces, ensuring their efficient operation around the clock. Today, the CISF serves as a protective barrier for India’s public sector undertakings and critical infrastructure, including airports, seaports, and major industrial facilities.
