New Delhi, Sep 20 (NationPress) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Saturday that the government is committed to transforming all universities in Delhi, including Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, into esteemed centers of global education and excellence. This initiative aims to attract students not only from India but also from abroad to consider studying in Delhi.
During the inauguration of the newly built Swami Vivekan Bhawan at the Karampura campus of Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, CM Gupta emphasized, “We will provide every resource, including modern infrastructure, qualified faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities, to ensure that every student enjoys a ‘best university’ experience and can stand confidently on the global stage.”
This new university building was inaugurated as part of the two-week-long Seva Pakhwada, running from September 17 to October 2, in celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday.
Education Minister Ashish Sood pointed out that PM Modi's birthday is being commemorated nationwide as “Seva Pakhwada.”
“PM Modi has dedicated his life to serving the nation and promoting public welfare. His every moment is devoted to the betterment of the country,” he stated.
“Thus, the best way to honor his birthday is through acts of service rather than extravagant celebrations, aimed at bringing smiles to the needy and instigating positive societal changes,” he added.
On the fourth day of the Seva Pakhwada, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a biogas plant in West Delhi.
CM Gupta criticized former Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for hindering Centre-funded projects over the past decade. She pointed out that the biogas plant inaugurated on Saturday had been delayed since 2018.
While inaugurating the city’s first large-scale compressed biogas plant at Nangli Dairy, she remarked, “Kejriwal has obstructed development projects financed by the PM Narendra Modi government. At times, he claimed he could not sign the file, and at other times, he blamed the lack of autonomy.”
“The era of governance through excuses has concluded with the establishment of this plant, which will convert cow dung into energy and prevent waste from contaminating the Yamuna River,” she added.
She noted that the work on the biogas plant commenced in 2018 but remained incomplete under the AAP government.
“After the BJP government took charge, it was promptly finished in 2025 and handed over to the MCD. When residents questioned Kejriwal about the delay, he blamed Modi for the hold-up. The truth is they lacked the motivation to work,” she stated.
Describing the new plant as a dream project of PM Modi, CM Gupta revealed that the city produces 2,500 tonnes of cow dung daily and plans to establish similar biogas plants across all 11 districts.
