Lucknow, Jan 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, presided over a critical meeting on Tuesday to assess the advancements of the ‘Mission Karmayogi’ initiative and the plans for its future implementation throughout the state. The discussion centered on the execution of the mission, the available training infrastructure, digital platforms, and efforts towards capacity building across diverse departments.
During this meeting, S. Radha Chauhan, Chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission, provided a comprehensive overview of the current status of mission implementation within Uttar Pradesh.
CM Yogi articulated that ‘Mission Karmayogi’ represents a groundbreaking initiative introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to cultivate a skilled and effective workforce by blending contemporary views with Indian cultural principles. This initiative aspires to enhance governance by making it more responsive, accountable, and results-driven.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister that approximately 30 lakh central government officials, 2.2 crore state government employees, and 50 lakh personnel from urban local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions are expected to undergo training under this mission. Additionally, the program seeks to bolster 790 central government training institutions nationwide.
To support ongoing online training, the Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) platform has been launched. iGOT has emerged as the largest government-driven capacity-building platform globally, boasting over 1.45 crore registered users. The platform features 4,179 training courses, which include 840 in Hindi and 540 in various regional languages. To date, around 6.7 crore courses have been completed with a commendable completion rate of 70 percent. The iGOT app has garnered over 50 lakh downloads.
Uttar Pradesh has distinguished itself as a frontrunner in the effective deployment of iGOT, onboarding over 18.8 lakh employees, which represents 93 percent of the nation's onboarding for 2025. Furthermore, more than 10 lakh users from the state have successfully completed at least one training program, with a total of 72 lakh courses completed—accounting for 99 percent of national completions in 2025. This success underscores the state's commitment to fostering good governance, skill enhancement, and citizen-centric services.
The Chief Minister instructed that all departments and governmental entities must tailor their training programs according to specific needs and upload them to the iGOT portal. He mandated that a seven-day compulsory capacity-building program be instituted for all officials and employees, linking it to promotions and Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs).
CM Yogi stressed the importance of incorporating AI and cybersecurity components into training programs and recommended that exemplary case studies from various departments in Uttar Pradesh be uploaded to the iGOT’s ‘Amrit Gyan Kosh’ platform. He highlighted that the integration of knowledge, skills, and a constructive mindset is vital for enhancing the quality of public service.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed that training must prioritize practical, ongoing, and need-based instruction for frontline workers such as ASHA workers, police constables, and personnel from Panchayati Raj institutions and urban bodies to improve service delivery and responsiveness at the grassroots level.
