Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 8 (NationPress) The Indian government has unveiled the Karmayogi Classroom to enhance AI-driven capacity building among civil servants.
This innovative tool is a feature of the iGOT Karmayogi platform, aimed at providing contextual, interactive, and personalized learning experiences for civil officials.
During the launch, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, stated, “The iGOT Karmayogi platform signifies a significant transition from ‘rule to role’, helping officers tackle their responsibilities with improved clarity, accountability, and focus on outcomes.”
He also emphasized that the platform utilizes advanced AI tools such as AI Saarthi, AI Tutor, and AI-based Capacity Building Plans.
“These innovations are paving the way for customized learning paths, efficient planning, and enhanced service delivery across various ministries and departments,” he added.
Singh highlighted the role of artificial intelligence as a facilitator, complementing human intelligence through a hybrid approach to elevate governance results.
“Continuous learning is essential in governance, as challenges, public expectations, and technological advancements evolve,” Singh remarked, asserting that AI should be considered a powerful tool, guided by human judgment and accountability.
He further noted that a hybrid model integrating Artificial Intelligence with human insight is vital for creating a progressive, responsive, and effective public administration.
He pointed out that while traditional training systems equipped officers for their roles, they often failed to prepare them for the diverse responsibilities encountered throughout their careers.
Singh emphasized the evolution of Mission Karmayogi, which initially focused on civil servants and has expanded to include officials at all levels across various ministries.
Additionally, he mentioned the initiative's extension to newly appointed officers through Mission Karmayogi Prarambh, which is being offered alongside appointment letters during Rozgar Melas, thus allowing them to prepare for real administrative challenges from the outset of their careers.
Meanwhile, Chhavi Bhardwaj, CEO of Karmayogi Bharat, pointed out that iGOT has become a fundamental digital framework for public sector capacity enhancement, boasting over 1.5 crore learners and more than 6.7 crore course completions.
