Hyderabad, Aug 10 (NationPress) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao expressed optimism on Sunday that the Congress government will persist in enhancing the IT ecosystem.
The former Information Technology minister praised the advancements in the development of the IT tower located in Adilabad town.
"Expanding IT access to Tier 2 towns was a key focus of the KCR administration, and I am hopeful that the Congress administration will sustain efforts to cultivate the ecosystem," Rama Rao shared on the social media platform 'X'.
"In Telangana, we have established similar IT Hubs in Nalgonda, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Khammam, Siddipet, and now Adilabad as well. The aim was to offer plug-and-play facilities for SME IT companies, invigorate the startup ecosystem, and serve as training centers through TASK centers," added KTR, as he is commonly known.
The preceding BRS government allocated funds for the IT tower in Adilabad at a budget of Rs 40 crore. Although the total cost escalated to Rs 58 crore, the Congress government has released the funds for construction.
This facility is anticipated to attract IT companies and generate job opportunities for local youth.
The G+4 tower will encompass a built-up area of 68,000 square feet and can host 635 employees. Approximately 1,900 people can work in three shifts.
IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu has affirmed the Congress government's commitment to proliferating the information technology industry in tier II cities by ensuring full occupancy at IT towers.
The government is dedicated to persuading IT firms to initiate operations in IT towers situated in tier II regions, providing necessary infrastructure, including roads, 24/7 electricity, and fiber connectivity.
The previous administration had established seven IT towers in tier II towns. Some companies have already begun operations in these facilities.
The vision aimed to disseminate IT growth throughout Telangana, avoiding a concentration in Hyderabad's northwest corner—Hitec City and Gachibowli. The government initiated GRID (Growth in Dispersion) and rural development policies to bolster growth across Telangana.
In addition to creating employment for rural youth, these IT Towers are expected to minimize migration to larger cities, stimulate local enterprises, and foster equitable development within the state.
