Chalavadi Narayanaswamy: Congress Misleading Public on Job Recruitments
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bengaluru, March 11 (NationPress) Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, has accused the Congress government of misleading the public by taking credit for job recruitments made during the prior BJP-led administration.
During a press interaction near the Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday, Narayanaswamy asserted that the Congress government is misrepresenting the accomplishments of the BJP government as its own, thereby misleading the citizens of Karnataka.
He expressed concern over the Chief Minister and ministers providing false information to the House about recruitment processes. “If the government itself resorts to deception, then who will be accountable, and who will ensure justice?” he asked.
Narayanaswamy claimed that the government has not fulfilled its promise to provide jobs for the youth, accusing it of betraying their trust. He mentioned that the BJP raised this concern in the Legislative Council through a calling attention motion, questioning the delay in filling vacant positions.
He emphasized that the BJP stands in solidarity with the educated unemployed youth of the state and will persist in pressuring the government. “This administration has deceived Dalits, youth, and students. It is fundamentally a government of betrayal,” he stated.
Narayanaswamy pointed out that as the number of educated individuals in the state rises, the government continues to mislead them. He noted that the BJP is organizing protests statewide demanding the filling of 284,000 vacant positions.
He referenced a significant protest in Dharwad last month, where over 50,000 youth rallied for employment, and he expressed his support for the demonstration. He alleged that once the BJP escalated its protest efforts, the government hastily announced plans to fill 56,000 posts, promising completion within a month.
However, he claimed that during the Belagavi session, when the BJP questioned the government, inaccurate information was provided to the House stating that 30,000 to 35,000 positions had already been filled.
He further alleged that the Congress government had not filled any posts up to 2025, claiming, “Whenever recruitment questions arise, the government offers various excuses such as ongoing examinations or scheduling issues.”
Narayanaswamy also commented on the cooking gas shortage, attributing it to disruptions in crude oil supply caused by conflicts in Gulf countries. “This is a national and global concern. Everyone comprehends this, but Congress leaders seem oblivious,” he remarked.
He accused Congress leaders of merely staging protests by cooking on the streets. “They appear to lack the ability to cook at home. The Congress has irresponsibly politicized the cooking gas crisis,” he charged.
