Bengaluru, Oct 24 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, claimed on Friday that the law and order situation in Karnataka has entirely deteriorated under the Congress-led administration.
Speaking to the press at the BJP office in the city, he stated: “Just yesterday, a group of seven men invaded a home and assaulted a woman — they were apprehended later. If there were any respect for the law or fear of the police, would such an event have occurred?”
Narayanaswamy pointed to additional incidents, suggesting a recurring pattern of administrative shortcomings. “During Dussehra, a nomadic woman traveled to Mysuru to sell balloons. An 8-9-year-old girl was raped and murdered — no one has faced consequences. They hailed from Kalaburagi, yet the minister responsible hasn’t even acknowledged the incident,” he claimed, criticizing Minister Priyank Kharge.
He went on to say: “In Vijayapura, an 11-year-old Dalit girl was raped and killed. Still, no one has spoken out. The Congress government is choosing to ignore these issues.”
Narayanaswamy also condemned the government for its failure to pay staff. “Anganwadi workers have not been compensated for three months. Librarians are owed salaries for 20 months. A mother in Sedam, unable to sustain her family, took her own life. In Chamarajanagar, a waterman died by suicide after waiting for 27 months without his salary.”
He asserted that citizens have lost trust in the government. “Since the Congress administration took charge, the state has faced numerous calamities. People are frustrated and disillusioned,” he remarked.
Narayanaswamy also criticized the state of the roads. “There isn’t a single road in Bengaluru that doesn’t have potholes. Pregnant women cannot reach hospitals and end up giving birth en route,” he stated, adding that even hospital personnel are exasperated.
Accusing Congress of diverting public attention, he remarked, “You won 136 seats. Where is the alleged vote theft? You talk about various issues merely to distract from your failures.”
Narayanaswamy also ridiculed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, commenting, “The Chief Minister doesn’t even grasp the difference between a new moon and a full moon. For this government, it seems that Amavasya has cast a shadow over the state.”
