Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 22 (NationPress) Union Minister of State for Fisheries George Kurian sharply criticized the CPI-M on Saturday, claiming that the party's leaders are hoarding gold and wealth, leaving no space for the poor within their ranks.
He ridiculed the ruling party, suggesting that once their alleged plundering concludes, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan may declare that the CPI-M has transformed into a “completely affluent party.”
“Being non-believers,” Kurian asserted, lower-level party workers often regard their top leaders as ‘gods’.
“They might as well seek divine intervention to apprehend these ‘party gods’,” he quipped.
Regarding the Sabarimala gold theft case, Kurian remarked that Lord Ayyappan “will not let anyone escape who is involved.”
He pointed out that the apprehended individuals are atheists motivated purely by ideology, leaving with smiles, convinced they have fulfilled their ideological obligations.
“Once an FIR is lodged, central agencies can legally step in regarding incidents of black money and associated violations. Such action will occur,” Kurian added.
In parallel, Congress Working Committee member Ramesh Chennithala stated that the credit for the detention of two former Devaswom Board presidents belongs entirely to the High Court.
He remarked that without judicial oversight, the investigation would have stalled after “three or four minor arrests.”
Chennithala criticized Vijayan's “mysterious silence” despite the incarceration of two prominent CPI-M leaders.
He claimed that the investigation is now focusing on former Devaswom Minister and senior CPI-M legislator Kadakampally Surendran and cautioned that ministers might soon face imprisonment.
He accused the CPI-M government of attempting to undermine Sabarimala.
“Only due to a court-supervised probe by competent officers were CPI(M) leaders incarcerated. Otherwise, under Pinarayi Vijayan, they would never have faced justice,” Chennithala remarked.
The High Court-monitored investigation conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has thus far resulted in the arrest of six individuals, including two CPI(M) leaders, three retired Devasom Board officials, and one active official.
BJP state general secretary M.T. Ramesh stated that the SIT will soon interrogate Surendran.
