Delegation of Students to Confer with Chief Secretary Regarding BPSC Candidates' Concerns

Patna, Dec 29 (NationPress) After an extensive ‘Chhatra Sansad’, the government of Bihar is prepared to meet with a delegation of five students on Sunday, as stated by officials.
The upcoming meeting will take place between the student representatives and Bihar's Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena.
This development is pivotal after 13 days of protests by candidates of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
The Chhatra Sansad served as a platform to highlight the grievances and demands of BPSC candidates and has brought attention to the prolonged administrative inaction, as pointed out by Prashant Kishor, the leader of the Jan Suraaj Party.
Kishor, who was present at the gathering, verified that this meeting represents the first meaningful interaction following 13 days of protests during which students’ concerns went unaddressed by officials.
Referring to the Chief Secretary as the second-highest authority in the state's administration, Kishor stressed the importance of this meeting for the student movement.
In his statements to the media in Patna, the Jan Suraaj Party Chief also cautioned, “If the government does not meet the students’ demands, a decision regarding the next steps will be revealed on Monday.”
Earlier on Sunday, a large assembly of students, joined by Prashant Kishor, actively took part in the Chhatra Sansad held at Gandhi Maidan, Patna.
This assembly provided a venue for students to express their grievances and advocate for their demands.
Later in the evening, tensions escalated as participants resolved to march towards the Chief Minister's residence.
Protesters breached barricades established at the J.P. roundabout and advanced towards Dak Bungalow Chowk, escalating the situation.
In reaction, the Patna Police deployed a significant force along routes leading to the Chief Minister's residence, aiming to control the crowd and prevent further upheaval.
BPSC organized the 70th BPSC Combined Preliminary Examination across 912 centres throughout Bihar.
Candidates are calling for the cancellation of the examination following disturbances that occurred at the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna on December 13.
The disruption at the Bapu Examination Centre resulted in the cancellation of the exam at that specific location.
BPSC has scheduled a re-examination at that centre on January 4.
Protesters are dissatisfied with BPSC's decision to cancel only the examination at the Bapu Examination Centre, insisting on the cancellation of the entire exam, arguing that irregularities were not confined to just one centre.
