BPSC Candidates' Delegation Engages in Constructive Dialogue with Bihar Chief Secretary

Patna, Dec 30 (NationPress) Following the police action against candidates, a group of 10 BPSC aspirants met with Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena on Monday to voice their concerns.
After the meeting, the candidates characterized the discussions as having unfolded in a constructive and positive environment.
They conveyed that the Chief Secretary attentively heard their grievances and assured them that the government is actively evaluating their demands and will reach a decision shortly.
Nikhil Tiwari, one of the aspirants from Bettiah, remarked, "The dialogue with the Chief Secretary was very productive. He took our issues seriously and assured us that action would be forthcoming soon."
He further mentioned, "Discussions have taken place with the Chief Secretary, and now it is up to the government to decide."
The candidates indicated that their subsequent actions would hinge on the government's decision.
"Our protests will continue until the government responds to our demands," stated Subhash Kumar, a candidate from Muzaffarpur who was part of the delegation.
Kumar also pointed out that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is currently outside of Patna, implying that any decision is likely to occur only after his return.
"No definitive decision has been reached as of now," he added.
"The Chief Secretary has acknowledged our demands, but no solutions have been established thus far. Until the government takes action, our protests will carry on," he reiterated.
The controversy was ignited on December 13, when candidates at the Bapu Examination Centre opted to boycott the BPSC Preliminary Test due to delays in receiving question papers.
Videos showcasing mobile phone usage and inadequate security during the examination added fuel to the protests.
The BPSC announced the cancellation of the examination at the Bapu Centre, rescheduling it for December 4; however, students are demanding the cancellation across all centres due to alleged irregularities.
On Sunday, Patna Police resorted to lathi-charge and water cannons on candidates who marched toward the Chief Minister’s residence under Prashant Kishor’s leadership. Several students sustained injuries during the confrontations.
This protest, now entering its 12th day, has garnered support from political figures, student leaders, and coaching operators.
