New Delhi, Feb 14 (NationPress) The President of the Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, submitted a letter to Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena on Friday, criticizing Caretaker Chief Minister Atishi for allegedly abusing her authority to facilitate the digital misappropriation of government resources and for misleading the public through a press conference concerning supposed power outages.
Sachdeva requested that the Lieutenant Governor direct officials to disregard Atishi's inappropriate directives.
He highlighted that following the Caretaker Chief Minister's accusations against the BJP for instigating power cuts during her press event, it is essential to ensure she refrains from making misleading statements while in her caretaker role.
In his correspondence, Sachdeva mentioned that under the direction of the Acting Chief Minister, officials from the IT department have reportedly transformed the official social media account (X) of the Chief Minister’s Office—originally established with government funds—into a personal account belonging to former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, which he deemed illegal.
Sachdeva insisted that the LG should order a cessation of this digital misappropriation led by Caretaker CM Atishi and restore the original social media content of the Chief Minister’s Office.
He asserted that while the Caretaker Chief Minister claimed power cuts were occurring in Delhi, in reality, no such outages were taking place.
Thus, he urged the Lieutenant Governor to direct power distribution companies to clarify the actual power situation.
Sachdeva accused colleagues of the Caretaker CM of disseminating false information and creating confusion regarding the alleged increase in power cuts after the Assembly elections.
On Thursday, Atishi claimed that power cuts had returned to Delhi following the BJP's victory in the Assembly elections.
The Delhi BJP leader stated that the entire city is aware that for many years, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, in collusion with private power distribution companies, has been exploiting residents.
"We have uncovered the exploitation of electricity consumers through power purchase adjustment charges (PPAC) and various other fees. Now, with the BJP government poised to take over, the Caretaker Chief Minister is resorting to conspiracy and fear tactics to manipulate discoms into compliance with her demands," he stated.
