Thrissur, Nov 11 (NationPress) Union Minister of State for Tourism Suresh Gopi referred to the recent explosion in the national capital as “a deep cut on the nation’s integrity”, urging citizens to remain calm and united in light of the escalating concerns surrounding this terror attack.
In a press briefing, the minister emphasized that the blast should be recognized as a deliberate attempt to disrupt peace, secularism, and the social harmony of the country.
“Even in a society where love and secularism thrive, there are forces aiming to fracture that unity. It is crucial for citizens to maintain composure and prevent discord from spreading. We must bolster our bonds of brotherhood and stand together,” he declared.
He assured that the central government’s inquiry would be thorough, targeting everyone implicated in the incident—from the direct offenders to those who might have provided support or refuge.
“The investigation will uncover every individual and organization behind this act, no matter where they are located. Stringent measures will follow,” Gopi vowed.
The minister noted that while the explosions occurred far from Kerala, they should not be seen as a remote disaster.
“The public is still grappling with the shock and anxiety triggered by the blast,” he remarked, refraining from commenting on political issues in Kerala, stating that “this is not the right time.”
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police confirmed that the inquiry is being carried out under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), classifying the incident as a terror strike. CCTV footage captured a white Hyundai i20 car, registered in Haryana (HR 26 CE 7674), parked near the Sunehri Masjid close to the Red Fort for over three hours before the explosion at 6:52 p.m.
The footage shows the car entering the area at 3:19 p.m. and leaving at 6:48 p.m., just moments prior to the blast.
The driver’s face is initially visible, but later footage reveals another individual with a concealed face at the wheel. Delhi Police mentioned that the vehicle entered the city through the Badalpur border, and its route is still under investigation.
