Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 1 (NationPress) In a bold critique of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal regarding corruption allegations, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled her administration's one-year report card in the Chandni Chowk Parliamentary constituency this past Sunday, accompanied by BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal and several other leaders.
During the public gathering titled "One Year of Change, One Year of Development," Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that BJP workers have diligently protected the interests of Delhi for the past 27 years.
"Whenever the previous (AAP) administration acted against the welfare of Delhi, we (BJP) stood up, protested, confronted baton charges, and even faced police action," she stated.
Gupta declared that their guiding figure is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who articulates that power is not about enjoyment but rather a means to serve.
She criticized the former AAP-led government for implementing schemes without ensuring proper execution on the ground.
"The Ladli Scheme serves as a prime example, where 1.75 lakh girls did not receive benefits. The current BJP administration has pinpointed these individuals and disbursed Rs 90 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the initial 30,000 girls, with plans to allocate an additional Rs 100 crore to 40,000 more girls," she explained.
The Ladli Scheme has been succeeded by the Lakhpati Beti Yojana, wherein each girl will be awarded Rs 1.25 lakh to aid her educational pursuits.
Chief Minister Gupta further noted that development projects worth Rs 260 crore are currently in progress in Shakur Basti, Rs 100 crore in Tri Nagar, Rs 160 crore in Model Town, Rs 120 crore in Adarsh Nagar, and a significant sum in Shalimar Bagh.
"Moreover, Rs 750 crore has been approved exclusively for road construction in the industrial region of Wazirpur Assembly," she stated.
Gupta mentioned that road construction projects worth Rs 5,000 crore from Inderlok Metro Station to Urban Extension Road-II have begun. To honor the commitment of providing free LPG cylinders to 17.5 lakh families during Holi, Rs 122 crore will be transferred through DBT, with President Droupadi Murmu scheduled to visit on Monday.
"Starting Monday, Pink cards will be issued to women in Delhi, granting them free travel on DTC buses," she added.
CM Gupta pointed out that electricity meter installations had been halted for 1.5 lakh properties sealed by the MCD, but now meters have been reinstalled, and power supply has resumed. A new Sewer Master Plan will be unveiled soon.
Addressing the leniency granted to AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal by a Delhi court in the liquor policy case, Gupta remarked that Kejriwal claims innocence, but he remains culpable in the public's eyes and will not be absolved.
She urged Kejriwal not to celebrate prematurely, as the matter will proceed to the Delhi High Court.
"Kejriwal will also need to respond to inquiries regarding the classroom scam, the fake labor bills scandal, the Jal Board scam, ED-related cases, and the 'Sheesh Mahal' scandal concerning the illegal refurbishment of the Chief Minister's official residence," she asserted.
The gathering was attended by BJP General Secretary Yogendra Chandolia, Delhi BJP Treasurer Satish Garg, Delhi BJP Media Head and Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor, and various district leaders.
Chandolia, the Chief Coordinator of the Chief Minister's outreach initiatives, noted that the public has shown considerable interest in these programs.
Consequently, from February 23 to Sunday, over 50,000 active workers and 497 delegations from civic and trade organizations have engaged in the outreach effort.
