New Delhi, Feb 19 (NationPress) The historic Ramlila Maidan is poised to host an extravagant swearing-in event for the new Chief Minister of Delhi this Thursday, symbolizing the BJP's return to power in the capital after a 27-year hiatus.

This event will not only showcase the BJP's strength but will also feature a notable presence of cab drivers, auto drivers, and slum dwellers—voter demographics that every party has been keen to attract with various incentives and promises leading up to the Assembly elections.

Former Chief Ministers from the AAP, Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi, are also expected to receive invitations to this significant occasion. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva is anticipated to reach out to both Kejriwal and caretaker CM Atishi with formal invites.

The new Chief Minister, along with the Council of Ministers, will take the oath of office administered by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena at noon.

This highly anticipated ceremony will feature distinguished political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Ministers from various BJP-ruled states. Additionally, BJP leaders and supporters from other states who played a role in the election campaign are likely to be in attendance.

Prior to the oath-taking, the ceremony will include a cultural program showcasing music and songs.

The BJP triumphed in the Delhi Assembly elections, removing the AAP from its position and preventing them from achieving a fourth consecutive term. Out of the 70-member Assembly, the BJP claimed victory in 48 seats, while the Kejriwal-led AAP secured only 22 seats. The Congress party failed to win any seats for the third consecutive term.

In preparation for the swearing-in, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory on X, urging the public to adhere to the guidelines.

"Given the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi on February 20, 2025, at Ram Leela Ground, New Delhi, special traffic measures have been implemented. Please follow the advisory," the post stated on X.
