New Delhi, July 25 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the government's commitment to finishing the ongoing construction of hospitals, which will greatly boost the bed capacity in the city. During a review meeting at the Delhi Secretariat, she assessed the progress of ongoing projects and stated, “Our government aims not just to increase bed numbers but to also ensure that residents receive top-notch medical services.”
She announced that multiple hospitals across Delhi will soon start providing specialized healthcare services.
The meeting included Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary Dharmendra, and senior officials from the Health Department.
Chief Minister Gupta also examined the situation at the Maulana Azad Medical College campus, focusing on the status of encroachment removal and survey work, and directed timely action.
She expressed her satisfaction with the rapid progress of constructing incomplete hospitals and expanding wards in existing facilities.
Gupta instructed officials to ensure that the construction of these hospitals is finalized within the designated timeframe.
Additionally, she called for continuous monitoring of hospitals where ICUs are being transformed into super-speciality centers, such as those for cancer care, pediatric health, and maternal health, to ensure all necessary amenities are available.
Emphasizing the government’s focus on enhancing healthcare infrastructure, Gupta highlighted that serious efforts are being made to increase the number of hospital beds in Delhi.
She stated that the timely completion of under-construction hospitals will significantly enhance bed capacity, ultimately benefiting the residents of Delhi.
During the meeting, CM Gupta also urged officials to expedite the identification of locations and the operationalization of all approved Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, ensuring timely completion of the process.
She reiterated the goal of making at least 15 Arogya Mandirs operational in every Assembly constituency. To facilitate land acquisition, she instructed officials to work closely with local representatives to identify suitable plots.
