A pioneering initiative aimed at sourcing innovative and technical solutions led by students for the planned industrial growth of Delhi is being organized by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC). This event is co-hosted by the esteemed Netaji Subhash University of Technology (NSUT).
Commencing on July 14, registrations will close on August 4, allowing interested student teams from colleges and universities throughout Delhi to apply via www.industrialideathondelhi.com, stated Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Sirsa remarked, “The Industrial Ideathon 2025 is integral to our mission of incorporating young innovators into the core of industrial policymaking.”
He emphasized that the youth of Delhi possess the talent and creativity necessary to address the genuine challenges confronting our industries.
“This ideathon exemplifies our government’s commitment to digital transformation, youth empowerment, and inclusive entrepreneurship,” he added.
Sirsa further stated, “We advocate for policy by participation. Through this ideathon, we are formalizing youth involvement in governmental processes. The partnership between DSIIDC and NSUT marks the inception of a longer journey aimed at establishing Delhi as the innovation capital of India.”
An official announcement indicated that the ideathon will unfold in two phases: the Preliminary Round and the Grand Finale.
The Preliminary Round is scheduled for August 13-14 at NSUT, where shortlisted teams will present their concepts to a panel of experts during an eight-hour challenge.
The Grand Finale is set to occur on one day between August 18-20 in Delhi, where the top teams from each challenge category will showcase their refined solutions and compete for prizes.
The competition invites interdisciplinary teams of 2-4 students, requiring at least one female member per team. Participants will tackle real-world challenges from four vital sectors: Logistics and Supply Chain Management issues within Delhi’s industrial clusters; Tech solutions for enhancing the Ease of Doing Business for startups and entrepreneurs; Frontier technologies to revitalize Delhi’s industrial ecosystem; and practical innovations to fortify the MSME sector.
All participants will receive certificates, and winning teams will be honored by senior dignitaries during a closing ceremony. The event is anticipated to draw over 120 teams from more than 30 academic institutions.
