New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) Following a comprehensive revival initiative supported by CSR funding, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena officially launched the newly redeveloped Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Hospital located in East Delhi's Dilshad Garden, as confirmed by an official announcement on Tuesday.

During the inauguration ceremony held on Monday, Saxena highlighted that the remarkable transformation of this facility, which seemed unimaginable just a year ago, was made possible through the unwavering determination and oversight of the newly appointed managing body, along with dedicated CSR contributions.

The IRCS Hospital in Dilshad Garden now boasts a contemporary building equipped with waiting areas, Outpatient (OPD) and Inpatient (IPD) services, a laboratory, sufficient sanitation facilities for staff, patients, and visitors, physiotherapy amenities, and a cafeteria for patients and their families. With a skilled team of medical and paramedical professionals, this hospital aims to emerge as a premier establishment for Maternity and Child Care.

Accompanying the Lieutenant Governor at the event were local MLA Sanjay Goel, members of the managing body, the Divisional Commissioner, and the District Magistrate, as noted in a statement.

Once a prominent institution established by the IRCS, which is presided over by the President of India at the national level and by the Lieutenant Governor in Delhi, this hospital was originally intended to serve the underprivileged.

However, due to previous neglect, it had fallen into disrepair, resulting in a decline in patient visits.

Upon taking office, when Saxena first toured the hospital, he resolved to initiate its redevelopment.

Subsequently, the Lieutenant Governor launched concerted efforts to upgrade the hospital into a modern healthcare facility, equipped with the necessary infrastructure and staff support.

To achieve this goal, CSR funding was mobilized alongside the limited resources of the organization, with the Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited engaged for construction activities, according to the statement.

The hospital is set to provide OPD services across various medical specialties with the involvement of visiting super-specialty consultant doctors, along with offering AYUSH and diagnostic services.

Additionally, it will feature a dedicated in-patient canteen, with the entire new complex designed to be accessible for persons with disabilities, complete with ramps and elevators.

The Lieutenant Governor urged the accompanying MLA to foster community engagement for the facility's ongoing success and directed officials to ensure the Redeveloped Hospital is consistently and effectively maintained.
