New Delhi, Feb 27 (NationPress) The Delhi Lieutenant Governor (L-G) V.K. Saxena issued transfer and posting directives for five Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers on Thursday. Among these, three officers have been given significant roles within the Chief Minister's office—one as Secretary to the CM and two as Special Secretaries to the CM, according to officials.
The specific assignments of the officers are detailed below:
Azimul Haque, a 2007 batch IAS officer from the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, who previously served as Member (Administration) at the Delhi Jal Board and held additional responsibilities as CEO of the Delhi Waqf Board, has now been appointed as the CEO of the Delhi Waqf Board.
Madhu Rani Teotia, an IAS officer from the 2008 batch of the AGMUT cadre, has been designated as Secretary to the Chief Minister upon her joining the GNCTD.
Sandeep Kumar Singh, an IAS officer from the 2011 batch of the AGMUT cadre, has been assigned the role of Special Secretary to the Chief Minister after joining the GNCTD.
Ravi Jha, also from the 2011 batch of the AGMUT cadre, previously serving as Excise Commissioner, will now act as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister.
Sachin Rana, an IAS officer from the 2014 batch of the AGMUT cadre, currently serving as Additional Chief Electoral Officer, has received the additional role of Member (Administration) at the Delhi Jal Board.
This marks the first significant bureaucratic reshuffle under the newly formed BJP government in Delhi. The orders were executed by the Services Department under L-G VK Saxena.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also oversees the finance portfolio in the Cabinet, is scheduled to present the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report concerning 'Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Health Services' during the forthcoming session of the Delhi Assembly on Friday.
Rekha Gupta, along with her council of ministers, officially took their oaths of office as members of the Legislative Assembly on Monday, February 24.
Alongside Delhi's CM, several BJP ministers including Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra, Ravinder Singh Indraj, Pankaj Kumar Singh, and Manjinder Singh Sirsa also took their oaths.
Rekha Gupta was sworn in as Delhi's Chief Minister on Thursday, February 20, in a grand ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan. The event, which marked the BJP's return after a 27-year hiatus, was attended by notable figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and several Chief Ministers from BJP-led states.
This occasion not only represented a political milestone but also showcased the strength of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
With her new role, Rekha Gupta becomes the fourth woman to serve as Chief Minister of Delhi, following Sheila Dikshit, Sushma Swaraj, and Atishi.
She is also the fourth BJP leader to hold the office in the capital, succeeding Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma, and Sushma Swaraj.
