Mumbai, March 20 (NationPress) The political climate in Maharashtra has escalated following the filing of a new petition regarding the Disha Salian case and an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray.

Disha's father, Satish Salian, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking a renewed investigation into his daughter's death, demanding an FIR against Aditya Thackeray.

Maharashtra Minister for Social Justice Sanjay Shirsat remarked that Disha's death has always been surrounded by suspicion.

He stated to reporters, "Her father has bravely come forward, expressing that he can no longer endure the agony. He has suffered for five years and claimed that an ex-mayor coerced him. Now he has sought the High Court's intervention. Whatever ruling the court provides will be just, and if any accused individuals are identified, they will face imprisonment."

In the meantime, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar dismissed any connections between Aditya Thackeray and the case.

Speaking to IANS, he mentioned, "If an individual is pursuing legal recourse for their daughter, we must respect the court's ruling. However, Aditya Thackeray's name being associated with this case lacks any basis."

"The incident of Sushant Singh's suicide emerged four years ago and became highly politicized, particularly during the Bihar elections, with numerous posters demanding justice for him. Political factions believed they could leverage his name for their benefit. Yet, after the elections, it seemed as if everyone swiftly forgot about Sushant Singh," he added.

"Now, after four years, what will the BJP do next? They are likely to engage in political strategies, especially with forthcoming elections in Bihar. Their attempts to politicize the matter of Aurangzeb have yet to prove effective, and even the RSS has distanced itself from them. If they persist in focusing on this issue, I believe their true motives will become evident to the public," Pawar remarked.

In an interview with IANS, Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad urged political entities not to exploit this case.

"For five years, it remains unclear whether it was a murder or an accident. The CID meticulously examined all possibilities and concluded it was an accident. Anyone now attempting to tie it to a politician is clearly seeking political advantage," he asserted.

"In my perspective, the allegations being raised now mirror those made five years ago. The police authorities investigated those same angles, yet nothing substantial emerged. Consequently, her death was classified as accidental," the Shiv Sena MLA added.

BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar defended the legal proceedings, stating, "Everyone has the right to approach the court. Disha's father acted on his own judgment in approaching the High Court. Let the court make its decision, and we will adhere to its guidance."

"They have filed a petition and made certain allegations, and an investigation has occurred, but it should be directed appropriately," he conveyed to IANS.

He refuted any connection to the BJP, asserting, "The Lok Sabha and Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha elections have occurred, yet Disha's father did not approach the High Court during that time. Therefore, we are not involved in this case. His own decision to go to the High Court resulted in a PIL. Thus, let the High Court decide."

Disha Salian, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, reportedly fell from a 14th-floor apartment in Malad on June 8, 2020. The Mumbai Police initially categorized it as an Accidental Death Report.

However, just six days later, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered deceased in his residence in Bandra, leading to the case being transferred to the CBI.

Satish Salian's petition to the Bombay HC asserts that his daughter was brutally raped and murdered, alleging a political cover-up to shield powerful individuals.

He contends that the Mumbai Police hastily concluded the case as a suicide or accidental death, neglecting forensic evidence, circumstantial details, and eyewitness accounts. His petition calls for a renewed investigation by the CBI.
