Chennai, July 11 (NationPress) National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval addressed the audience on Friday regarding India’s ascending economic position and military strength on the global platform. He also shared insights on the anticipated milestones the country may achieve by 2047, a pivotal year marking 100 years of Independence.
Doval emphasized that India possesses the capacity for exponential growth, projecting that the GDP could potentially increase by eight-fold by 2047.
During his speech at the 62nd convocation ceremony of IIT-Madras, he narrated the nation's evolution from a challenging past to a promising future, highlighting the contributions from various national icons and encouraging students to cultivate themselves as daring leaders.
The NSA stressed the significance of embracing advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drew comparisons with China’s progress in developing 5G technology.
“The Chinese took 12 years and invested $300 billion to develop 5G. We didn’t have that much time or that much money. But, in just two-and-a-half years, we went to create an indigenous alternative,” he noted.

“If that occurs, our per capita income will escalate from $2,500 to $22,000. The country will boast a workforce of approximately 1.1 billion highly skilled individuals across diverse fields. This will lead to a thriving middle class, while India’s demographic and civilizational strengths will further enhance its capabilities,” he conveyed.
In contrast, he indicated that China might face a dwindling workforce, potentially reducing its workforce by 23 percent.
