The young woman is presently receiving treatment at a local hospital in Durgapur. Archana Majumdar, a member of the NCW, led the delegation and met with the victim at the hospital.

As of the time of this report, Majumdar had not provided any comments to the press regarding the incident.

In the meantime, local BJP supporters, spearheaded by the party's legislator from Durgapur (Paschim), Lakshman Chandra Ghorui, organized a protest outside the Durgapur New Township police station, demanding the swift identification of the suspects involved.
