Emotional Goodbye for Five Medical Students from Kerala in Tragic High-Speed Crash

Alappuzha, Dec 3 (NationPress) The residents of Kerala were greeted with heartbreaking news on Tuesday morning regarding the untimely demise of five first-year MBBS students at the state-operated Alappuzha Medical College Hospital, after a horrific incident that occurred on Monday night.

The five medical students tragically lost their lives when their vehicle, which was being driven at excessive speed, collided with a Kerala State Road Transportation Corporation (KSRTC) passenger bus.

This unfortunate event took place near Alappuzha around 9:20 P.M., when the Tavera MUV transporting the students reportedly skidded and crashed into the KSRTC bus that was en route from Guruvayur to Kayamkulam.

On Tuesday morning, autopsies were performed on the five students, and their remains were placed at their college, where they had commenced their studies in October of this year.

Three Kerala Ministers, including Veena George (Health), Saji Cherian (Fisheries), and P. Prasad (Agriculture), along with local legislators, led a solemn hour-long tribute ceremony, during which classmates and friends of the deceased mournfully passed by the bodies of the lost individuals, tears streaming down many faces.

Meanwhile, Veena George reported that the condition of one of the injured students remains extremely critical.

Witnesses claimed that the force of the collision caused the MUV to crumple, ejecting the students onto the roadway.

Three students died instantly at the scene, while two others succumbed to their injuries en route to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.

The Regional Transport Officer indicated that there could be various factors contributing to the accident, including poor visibility due to heavy rain and the inexperience of the student who was driving.

The MUV was a rental vehicle, and the students had hired it from a local individual to attend a movie.

The vehicle was utterly wrecked due to the head-on collision.

The deceased students have been identified as Mohammed, Muhasin, Ibrahim, Devanand, and Shreedeep.

Those who were sitting on the left side of the car, which sustained the most damage during the collision, died on impact.

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan visited the college to pay his respects to the departed souls.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan, and many others expressed their condolences over the loss of these young, promising students, whose dreams and medical careers were tragically cut short.
