Prayagraj, March 7 (NationPress) As Holi approaches, an inspiring movement of empowerment is unfolding among the women of Prayagraj, who have united under the Startup India initiative to establish businesses dedicated to crafting and selling Holi-related products.

These women are now creating Kachri Papad, chips, and herbal gulal, representing a remarkable transition towards self-reliance and financial independence. What was once a vision of empowerment has transformed into a reality, allowing these women to enjoy newfound economic freedom and personal development.

The success of this initiative has instilled a sense of pride and happiness in many.

"No woman in our society can claim today that she is without work," shares a delighted member of the group.

"We have united, formed our groups, and embraced the call for women’s empowerment championed by our Prime Minister. Today, women throughout the city are not merely working but flourishing, producing items like chips, papad, and colors that are highly sought after. We’ve gained confidence, and our families are celebrating Holi with a spirit we never thought possible. What was once a financial struggle, especially during festivals, has evolved into a pathway for prosperity," she expressed.

For these women, the journey from feeling sidelined to becoming exemplars of self-sufficiency has been transformative.

"Previously, there was just one source of income, but now, three women in my household — my daughter, sister, and I — are collaborating," shares Abha Singh, a member of one such group.

“This has not only transformed our festival celebrations but has also strengthened our family bonds. The income generated from crafting and selling these products has alleviated our financial concerns, enabling us to feel empowered like never before," she added.

Abha emphasizes how the Prime Minister's commitment to women’s empowerment has had a significant impact on their lives.

"We have taught ourselves everything and initiated our businesses. What started as small ventures has now expanded across Prayagraj, connecting us with numerous other women, reducing costs while providing livelihoods. It has bestowed upon us a sense of identity, and I can proudly say that today, we are recognized in Prayagraj for our work."

The women’s initiative transcends mere commerce—it also promotes products that enhance community health.

Roomi Chauhan, another entrepreneur in the group, remarks, "We are producing organic gulal that is not only safe for the skin but also eco-friendly. Awareness regarding the health risks associated with chemical-based products is rising, and our organic gulal is in high demand. It is incredibly rewarding to know that our products bring joy and safety to families during Holi."

Sanjana Bhartiya, another group member, stated, "The term 'startup' was unfamiliar to us, but with the support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, we have been able to seize this opportunity. Women like us are learning, collaborating, and earning together. This is an exhilarating time for us, and the empowerment we feel is beyond words."
