In a conversation with IANS, Lakhpati Didi Khileshwari Sahu, a member of the Vihan group, stated, "I cultivate mushrooms. From a single kilogram of spawn, I can harvest about 10 kilograms of mushrooms. Currently, I'm producing around 12 kilograms, yielding between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000 every two months. This income allows me to support my family. My gratitude goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this opportunity."
Furthermore, Jhamin Bai, who is part of the Saraswati Self-Help Group, mentioned that she was able to secure a loan of Rs 3 lakh through the group, which enabled her to establish her business.
She shared, "From my shop, I earn approximately Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 monthly. The central government has implemented many programs to assist women in advancing, and I want to express my thanks to the Narendra Modi-led Union government."
The story of Sajni Kamar, a woman from the Kamar tribe residing in Kharkha village, is equally motivating.
She recounted, "Previously, my financial situation was dire, making it hard to manage even two meals a day. After joining the Vihan group, I easily obtained a government loan and started a small business. With a loan of Rs 1 lakh, I launched a grocery store. Now, I earn between Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000 monthly, which has improved my family's financial stability and allowed us to live a fulfilling life."
Under the Lakhpati Didi scheme, women are linked to self-help groups and provided with skill training to facilitate self-employment upon completion of their training.
The scheme offers women interest-free loans ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh to help them establish their own businesses.
