Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam on Tuesday, 26 May praised the 12-year tenure of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing India's trajectory as a march toward 'Ram Rajya'. Speaking from Ghaziabad, Krishnam argued that the past decade-plus had reshaped India's identity across religious, cultural, economic, and global dimensions.

Cultural and Religious Renaissance

Krishnam, who also heads Kalki Dham, highlighted the development of major pilgrimage sites as evidence of a spiritual resurgence. He specifically cited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, the Kedarnath Temple, and the Mahakal Lok as landmarks of this revival.

'From Somnath to Vishwanath, from Vishwanath to Mahakal, the nation has witnessed the resurgence of its spiritual consciousness. Prime Minister Modi's faith and devotion to Lord Shiva are clearly evident in the reconstruction of Baba Kedar,' he said.

He further characterised Modi as having transcended conventional political leadership, calling him 'a standard-bearer of Indian culture and the Sanatan tradition.'

Welfare Schemes and Economic Vision

Krishnam credited several flagship government programmes with driving grassroots transformation. He named Ujjwala Yojana, Digital India, Make in India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat as schemes that 'charted a new course for the nation.' He also praised the Prime Minister's emphasis on Swadeshi principles and natural farming as a 'visionary approach for India's future.'

Military Assertiveness and Global Standing

On the security front, Krishnam pointed to surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor as demonstrations of India's military resolve. 'India no longer merely issues statements against terrorism; it takes decisive action. The world has witnessed the military capabilities and political will of the New India,' he asserted.

This comes amid heightened national debate over India's defence posture following recent cross-border operations, making Krishnam's remarks politically significant even as they come from a figure who has publicly distanced himself from his former party.

'These 12 years represent a watershed moment for the nation — the years that fostered a cultural renaissance and reinforced the concept of Ram Rajya. The people of the country are confident that, in the times to come, India will emerge as an even more powerful and self-reliant nation,' he said, extending his congratulations to the Modi government on the milestone.

Notably, Krishnam is a former Congress leader whose public endorsements of the Modi government have drawn attention as a cross-party voice of support.
