New Delhi, March 5 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu emphasized that to truly appreciate and learn about the rich culture and dynamic cultural heritage of South India, individuals should engage in the ‘Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav’ held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Recently, the President officially launched the second edition of ‘Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.

“During this second edition of the Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav, participants will explore the rich cultural heritage of five states: Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, along with two Union Territories - Lakshadweep and Puducherry,” stated the President.

She expressed joy noting that nearly 500 artisans and weavers are taking part in this grand celebration.

“It is essential for everyone to partake in this festival to gain insights into the art and culture of South India. This event will also uplift the spirits of all artisans and artists involved,” remarked the President.

The ‘Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan to honor and exhibit the rich diversity of India.

An official noted that this Mahotsav is designed with seven different editions focusing on – North-East, South, North, East, West, Central region, and Union Territories.

The second edition of this event highlights the southern states. It showcases the vibrant heritage and cultures of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.

“This festival will also serve as a platform for artists, artisans, performers, writers, and culinary experts from these regions to display their talents through cultural performances, handicraft and handloom exhibitions, literary discussions, informative workshops, food courts, and more,” the official explained.

The Mahotsav will be accessible to the general public from March 6 to 9, 2025, from 10 am to 8 pm.

Entry will be through Gate no. 35 of Rashtrapati Bhavan (located where North Avenue meets Rashtrapati Bhavan), and bookings can be made online at https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.
