Patna, June 6 (NationPress) During a passionate speech at the Constitution Security Conference at the International Convention Centre in Rajgir, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi delivered a formidable critique of both the Central and Bihar administrations, accusing them of enabling rampant lawlessness and eroding the Constitution.
Addressing the audience from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's home ground of Nalanda, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha stated, “Bihar, once revered as the land of truth, justice, and non-violence, is now being labeled as the 'Crime Capital' of India.”
Gandhi expressed his concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, asserting that the citizens of Bihar now feel vulnerable and attributing the blame to both Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The law and order here is in disarray. Fundamental services such as education, employment, and healthcare are increasingly inaccessible to the average citizen,” remarked Rahul Gandhi.
In a pointed remark directed at PM Modi, LoP Gandhi stated, “Efforts are underway to instill hatred and fear across the nation. However, the Congress will not allow this conspiracy to succeed. Our initiation of the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' serves this very purpose, and we will persist.”
He further criticized CM Nitish Kumar for his frequent political shifts.
“The Chief Minister continually alters his alliances — sometimes aligning here, sometimes there. The people of Bihar now recognize that genuine issues are being overlooked,” he noted.
Positioning himself as a protector of constitutional principles, LoP Gandhi cautioned against threats to social justice and democracy.
“We will not permit the Constitution to be dismantled. This nation will be guided by the Constitution established by Baba Saheb Ambedkar, not by the directives of a handful of capitalists,” asserted Rahul Gandhi.
He called upon the youth of Bihar to rally in defense of democracy and constitutional values, framing the current struggle as a battle against hatred and violence.
“Together, we will advance the country on the road to justice and unity,” he stated.
This marked LoP Gandhi's inaugural public appearance in Nalanda, making it a politically significant event given CM Nitish Kumar's stronghold in the area.
The gathering attracted substantial participation from Congress activists and local community members.
