Patna, July 7 (NationPress) The Bihar Congress incharge, Krishna Allavaru, fiercely criticized the NDA administration in Bihar on Monday, claiming a severe deterioration of law and order during its governance.
He attributed the state's dire situation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Addressing reporters at Patna airport, Allavaru remarked: “Bihar has succumbed to the rule of thugs and has transformed into the 'crime capital' of India under the BJP's leadership. Innocent citizens are losing their lives daily, and prominent business figures are being murdered outside their residences.”
He further questioned the essence of governance if public safety is compromised, stating: “What purpose does the government serve if no one's life is secure? In Patna, both the affluent and the impoverished are being killed indiscriminately.
“PM Modi and Amit Shah need to respond, as they are covertly controlling the Bihar government, using Nitish Kumar merely as a figurehead.”
Regarding the Prime Minister's forthcoming visit to Bihar, the Congress leader expressed that while the PM is welcome, he must provide answers to the citizens of Bihar.
“What has he delivered to Bihar in the past 11 years of the double-engine government? Numerous grand proclamations have been made, yet no tangible results are evident,” he continued.
“Murders transpire in broad daylight, unemployment rates are surging, inflation is escalating, educational standards are stagnant, hospitals are neglected, and essential medications are unavailable,” he elaborated.
He added, “These are the concerns of the populace. As the Prime Minister, he must answer, and the people of Bihar should demand accountability.”
On the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, Allavaru accused the Election Commission of favoring the BJP.
“The same events that unfolded in Maharashtra, Haryana, and other regions are now occurring in Bihar. The BJP profited there, while the elections were compromised,” he asserted.
He further claimed: “In Bihar, the Election Commission is effectively under the BJP's influence. Therefore, why would the BJP oppose this process when it serves their interests?”
Allavaru's comments arise amidst escalating political tensions in Bihar following the murder of prominent businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna, which has intensified the Opposition's critique of the NDA government concerning law and order ahead of the impending Assembly elections.
The Congress, along with other partners of the Grand Alliance, is voicing alarms about governance, voter list revisions, and the safety of citizens under CM Nitish Kumar's regime.
