Giriraj Singh Advocates Self-Defence Training for Hindus Amid Violence in Bangladesh

New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) In response to the persistent violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh, Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh stated that it is essential for all Hindus to receive self-defence training akin to that of Israelis.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, the Minister remarked: "It is crucial to take lessons from the situation in Bangladesh, and given the circumstances in our nation, it is imperative for all Hindus to undergo self-defence training similar to that of Israel."
This statement comes amidst a backdrop of ongoing violence directed at the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
Significant protests are occurring across various states in India, demanding attention to the persecution of Hindus in the South Asian nation.
Following the traumatic events of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, Israelis have embraced 'Krav Maga' as a means to enhance their self-defence capabilities.
The attack resulted in the deaths of 1,200 individuals, predominantly civilians, with 251 others taken hostage. According to the Gaza health ministry, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 38,000 people in the region.
Krav Maga is an effective, combat-tested Israeli self-defence system that encompasses fighting skills and defensive tactics.
In Bangladesh, Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Hindu priest, faced arrest on charges of sedition, with his bail request postponed until January 2 due to a lack of legal representation.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has reported that Advocate Ramen Roy, who defended the Hindu priest in the sedition case, was brutally assaulted in Bangladesh and is currently fighting for his life in a hospital.
India has called upon the Bangladeshi government to ensure the protection of minority groups.
Recently, the Union Minister expressed that the interim government of Bangladesh, led by Mohammed Yousuf, is acting under the influence of fundamentalists, urging the United Nations to intervene in the situation.
He also advocated for the establishment of a law to prevent conversions within India.
In a separate message, Giriraj Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting that the nation has emerged as a significant force on the global stage under his leadership.
Emphasizing the BJP's commitment to the one nation, one election policy, he stated: "To strengthen and advance our country, we must implement one nation, one election."
