Patna, Aug 1 (NationPress) Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh launched a fierce critique of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday, accusing him of deceiving the public with false claims regarding irregularities in the voter list during the state-wide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative.
Singh condemned Rahul Gandhi for his earlier statements made outside Parliament on the same day.
“Rahul Gandhi has taken a contract for dishonesty. If he truly possesses evidence of voter list manipulation in Maharashtra, why has he not presented it to the Election Commission thus far?” Union Minister Singh remarked while addressing media at Patna airport.
Rejecting the opposition’s campaign and the forthcoming Yatra of opposition leaders in Bihar concerning SIR as an effort to mislead the public, Giriraj Singh asserted: “These are the same individuals who brought jungle raj to Bihar. Now they speak of safeguarding democracy. The public is well aware of their history — scams, corruption, and lawlessness.”
The BJP leader stressed that the people of Bihar are informed and have resolved to restore the NDA government in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, accused the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP in an alleged scheme to manipulate voter lists.
“We have ample evidence that votes are being stolen by the Election Commission to favor the BJP. We possess proof akin to an atom bomb,” Gandhi stated.
“Even post-retirement, officials responsible for such actions will face consequences,” Rahul Gandhi claimed, intensifying the political climate ahead of the Bihar elections.
In support of Rahul Gandhi’s statements, Congress MP from Kishanganj Mohammad Jawed remarked: “We’ve been voicing concerns about SIR from the start. The BJP, in collusion with the Election Commission, seeks to pilfer the votes of the impoverished and laborers, similar to their actions in Maharashtra. This model is now being replicated in Bihar and across the nation.”
