New Delhi, July 8 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh has accused a well-orchestrated conspiracy aimed at undermining Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and destabilizing the state through politically motivated crimes.
“In Bihar, a plot is being devised to tarnish Nitish Kumar's reputation, instill fear, and promote crime with political backing,” Singh informed the media on Tuesday.
“Certain individuals are intentionally engineering these incidents to damage Nitish Kumar’s image, but the truth about this conspiracy is soon to be revealed. Using a specific political faction, unrest is being stirred in various areas of Bihar to smear the state government,” he elaborated.
Criticizing the RJD, Singh likened the present administration to that of former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. “This is Nitish Kumar’s government, which penalizes criminals, unlike Lalu ji’s regime, which favored them,” he stated.
Singh also targeted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for opposing the ECI’s voter list revision.
On July 3, eleven INDIA bloc parties convened with Election Commission representatives, raising concerns that over two crore voters in Bihar might lose their voting rights due to documentation issues. However, the ECI clarified that voters could present documents until July 25 and would receive additional opportunities during the claims and objections phase.
“It appears that Tejashwi Yadav pretends to be a Samajwadi, yet what level of hypocrisy is this? Why did he alter his wife’s name? If she was a Christian, what’s the issue? Is being a Christian a crime? But changing her name?” Singh questioned. “That’s why I assert that the name of Tejashwi Yadav’s wife in the voter list should be scrutinized. How did she register as a voter? Was it based on a citizenship certificate?”
He further stated, “They claim Aadhaar is not a legitimate ID proof. Why are they so anxious? Is it lawful to permit illegal immigrants to vote? No. So what do they fear? These individuals desire votes from intruders; that’s why they are contesting the voter list revision.”
The Election Commission, in a statement on July 6, clarified that the revision process seeks to ensure the electoral rolls' accuracy by eliminating duplicates, outdated, or ineligible entries, such as deceased voters, those who have moved, or individuals registered in multiple locations. The EC emphasized that this initiative does not target any specific community or group.
