New Delhi, Feb 3 (NationPress) Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has unveiled a video aimed at highlighting the falsehoods propagated by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. He accused the AAP government of denying Delhi essential development and welfare benefits through initiatives like Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which aim to provide housing for the underprivileged.
During a press briefing on the final day of the campaign for the Delhi Assembly election, Goyal stated, “Just as the residents of Haryana and Maharashtra have supported the BJP, the people of Delhi are also poised to do the same.”
He expressed confidence that voters are eager to restore the governance of the BJP, recalling the developmental progress seen under former Chief Ministers Madan Lal Khurana and Sahib Singh Verma.
“Only a few hours remain until Delhi can emerge from the grip of the AAP government,” he remarked, alongside Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva.
Goyal proclaimed that February 5 will mark a pivotal day for the residents of Delhi and a momentous occasion for the BJP as they cast their votes for a double-engine government.
He assured that Delhi is on the brink of a government focused on development and public welfare, committed to providing stable housing and a brighter future for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for presenting a comprehensive budget aimed at bolstering the economy for all demographics, Goyal noted that the middle class has been largely relieved from taxes. The budget emphasizes support for various sectors while fostering small enterprises.
Criticizing the AAP government for stalling development initiatives in Delhi, the Union Minister pointed out that through the execution of projects exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore, the Prime Minister has demonstrated his unwavering dedication to the residents of Delhi.
Goyal noted that not only BJP supporters but also the citizens of Delhi have united to ensure the triumph of every BJP candidate.
The voting process for selecting a new 70-member Delhi Assembly is scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8. Currently, the AAP holds 62 seats, while the BJP occupies eight.
Data from the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) reveals that 1.56 crore voters are eligible to participate across 13,766 polling locations. Among these, 83.76 lakh are male, 72.36 lakh are female, and 1,267 identify as third-gender voters.
The number of candidates contesting has risen to 699, compared to 672 in the 2020 elections.
