Ahmedabad, April 12 (NationPress) Monarch Group Chairman Himanshu Shah on Friday expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing a new perspective on the spiritual values of the Jain community by attending the Navkar Mahamantra Diwas programme.
Shah remarked to IANS, "Prime Minister Modi stated that while the minority community harbors expectations from the government, the Jain community has consistently been a giver. This is undeniably true. We adhere to the teachings of Lord Mahavir and uphold the principles of compassion, charity, and humility. These are the fundamental objectives of life."
He added, "His (PM Modi's) address was so insightful that where we conclude our discussions, he begins. The insights he shared regarding the Navkar Mantra could only be articulated by a sadhu or an ascetic. He grasped the essence of the mantra and committed himself to it."
Shah also mentioned that he had a personal meeting with the Prime Minister.
He continued, "I shared with him (PM Modi) that although you weren't born into a Jain family, your actions, decisions, and thoughts resonate with Jain principles. He responded with a smile, acknowledging that having lived among the Jains, his perspective aligns with ours."
Himanshu Shah extended his thanks to the Jain International Trade Organisation team for their efforts in making the event a success, stating that the Navkar Mantra reached every household, a testament to collective endeavor.
According to Shah, Prime Minister Modi's presence further bolstered this initiative.
Expressing his gratitude, Shah remarked, "We are thankful to him (PM Modi) for taking time from his busy schedule to chant the Navkar Mantra with us and showcase the principles of Jainism to the nation. This is a moment of pride for the Jain community."
PM Modi addressed the event organized on Navkar Mahamantra Day at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi, which saw participation from notable Jain figures, followers from across India and abroad, and millions of devotees.
The Prime Minister’s message aligns with the larger themes of cultural unity, communal harmony, and India's rich spiritual traditions.
Over the years, he has frequently motivated citizens to adopt practices that promote inner peace and national unity, especially during significant festivals or observances.
