GreenLine Collaborates with Flipkart to Accelerate Eco-Friendly Supply Chains

Mumbai, Dec 2 (NationPress) GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd, a significant contributor to Essar's Green Mobility initiative, has revealed its collaboration with Flipkart, India's indigenous e-commerce platform, to improve sustainability in logistics.

This partnership will involve GreenLine deploying its fleet of liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks, representing a crucial advancement in Flipkart's larger goal of decarbonizing its delivery operations.

In the initial phase of this collaboration, GreenLine plans to roll out 25 LNG-powered trucks, each fitted with 46 ft containers capable of holding 110 cubic meters (CBM). These vehicles will facilitate the transportation of various e-commerce products, covering both B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) shipments across significant regional pathways.

The first deployment will concentrate on moving goods from the West to North of India, with aspirations to extend to additional routes connecting North to South and West to South corridors in the future.

This collaboration is a vital component of both GreenLine and Flipkart's sustainability goals. GreenLine's LNG-powered fleet will enhance Flipkart's ongoing efforts, which also encompass the integration of electric vehicle (EV) trucks to further lessen the carbon impact of its logistics operations.

Recently, Flipkart announced that it has successfully integrated 10,000 EVs into its delivery fleet. The combination of LNG and EV vehicles forms part of the company’s larger commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable environment.

Expressing his thoughts on the partnership, Anand Mimani, CEO of GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd, stated, “E-commerce is transforming lives across India, connecting dreams, needs, and opportunities. Yet, as the sector expands, its environmental footprint also increases. At GreenLine, we regard this as a call to action. Through our collaboration with Flipkart, we are facilitating India's transition to greener practices, one mile at a time. By deploying our LNG-powered fleet, we are making logistics more sustainable, ensuring that each delivery contributes to a brighter, cleaner future for our nation.”

Hemant Badri, SVP & Head of Supply Chain, Customer Experience & ReCommerce Business at Flipkart Group, further commented, “At Flipkart, we are dedicated to fostering a sustainable future, and this partnership with GreenLine is a significant step towards achieving that objective. By incorporating LNG-powered vehicles into our logistics processes alongside our existing electric vehicle fleet, we aim to enhance supply chain efficiency and contribute to India's broader environmental goals. This collaboration underscores our ongoing commitment to promote green innovation and ensure the long-term sustainability of our operations.”
