The event, held in Gandhinagar, featured the presence of Health Minister Rushikesh Patel and senior health department officials.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister officially launched the scheme and commenced the enrollment process. Beneficiaries were symbolically presented with Ayushman cards.
This scheme will offer cashless medical treatment coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh for All India Services officers serving in Gujarat, as well as for state government officials, employees, pensioners, and their families.
CM Patel emphasized that this initiative aims to enhance health security while alleviating financial burdens during medical emergencies.
In conjunction with the scheme launch, the Chief Minister and Health Minister also inaugurated 94 new 108 emergency ambulances, further strengthening Gujarat’s extensive ambulance network. These new vehicles incorporate advanced technology to deliver quicker, more efficient, and modern emergency medical care.
“These ambulances will significantly enhance the golden hour response, offering vital assistance to patients in emergencies,” remarked the Chief Minister.
The gathering included Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Dhananjay Dwivedi, Health Commissioner (Urban) Harshad Patel, Health Commissioner (Rural) Ratankunwar Charan Gadhvi, along with numerous health department officials and employees.
Through these initiatives, the state government aims to merge healthcare advancements with emergency readiness, ensuring that both government employees and the public have better access to timely, quality medical care.
Significant investments have been made in tertiary care facilities, medical colleges, and specialist institutes like the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and the Gujarat Cancer Research Institute in Ahmedabad.
Programs such as the Mukhyamantri Amrutam (MA) Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and the newly launched Karmayogi Health Security Scheme have broadened access to affordable healthcare, while the 108 Emergency Ambulance Service has become essential during critical situations.
